Boat Description
Mk I Whitby: This boat was originally a resident of the Whitby [Ontario, Canada] Yacht Club. It lived a full life between 1977 to 2005 on Cameron Lake, where it was raced with the Lake Cameron Boating Organization (LCBO) near Fenelon Falls until its owner retired from sailing. Its new home is on a trailer where the poor thing gets dragged from lake to lake across the Kawarthas and Muskokas, Algonquin Park and even Lake Ontario. While the hull was repaired sufficiently for buoyancy and leaks, the cosmetics were ignored as I sailed her at every single opportunity possible this season. During this year's winter lay-up I hope to strip the hull, rework some very ancient repairs which were uncovered earlier this year, and give it a fresh coat of paint. Some newer sails are needed too, since this boat came with her original sails and those of long-lost sister Whitby AL82.
